ABOUT GARY

Gary moved to Lawrence with his wife, Doreen, after serving 33 years on active duty in the Air Force. Gary has served with the Navigators ministry on KU’s campus for many years and it was there that he met KC and joined Free City shortly after our church’s launch in 2014. Gary was installed as an elder in 2021. Gary and Doreen have three children all married, Kristen (Mark), Amy (Tobie), and David (Libby). They have two grandsons, Everest and Elan. In his free time you’ll find him exercising, reading, and taking care of his yard.

When asked what Bible verse shapes his ministry, he referenced Luke 1:16, speaking about John the Baptist - "And he will turn many of the sons of Israel back to the Lord their God." Gary added, “In my small way, I want to do that too!”
